Morgane Billuart

writer and visual artist, founder Subsight

Morgane Billuart (1997) is a French writer and visual artist. She graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (NL) in 2021 and studied at the Cooper Union in New York (US). Currently, she is an affiliated researcher at the Institute of Network Cultures (NL) and is enrolled at the MA for Cross-Disciplinary Strategies in Vienna (AT).

Corporate-core, individual managerialism, becoming the product, self-optimized female performativity… In the era of digital practices and self-generated belief systems, Morgane’s Billuart practice investigates diverse contemporary phenomena, hoping to dissect their lineage and path. Researching such topics, she uses diverse mediums, often returning to writing and image-making.

The Subversion of the Attention Economy

If we can’t avoid it, how can we subvert the current attention economy to alter it in favor of a greater pool of individuals or causes? Subsight investigates what strategies can be used to re-direct individual will and attention in order to drive social change and enable economic re-distribution.
