Menno Schilthuizen

Professor & Senior Scientist Naturalis Biodiveristy Center

Dutch biologist Menno Schilthuizen (1965) is author, speaker, and researcher. He works as a senior scientist for Naturalis Biodiversity Center and holds a post as professor of evolutionary biology and biodiversity at Leiden University. His research on the evolution snails and insects takes him to jungles in Borneo and caves in the Balkans, but he also studies how animals and plants in cities adapt to the Anthropocene. His latest book, ‘Darwin Comes to Town: How the Urban Jungle Drives Evolution’ will appear in February 2018.
