Researcher and philosopher
Madelaine is a poetic philosopher who weaves narrative and theory to explore the ecological, political, and technological complexity of our time. Her primary research at Delft University of Technology takes an intersectional feminist lens to examine how industrial and retail robots are manifestations of ideology and culture. She also co-runs a vibrant intersectional feminist philosophy of technology reading group, an intersectional approaches to AI speaker series, and is an active member of working groups on anti-colonial technology and ethics of attention. Much of this work is shaped by over a decade of non-profit work, where Madelaine ran workshops agenda-free presence and companionship as form a of justice. On the side, she’s always jotting notes on the inner-life of a philosopher, which she hopes will make it into a book one day.
